Three Red Sox minor leaguers who are natives of New Jersey are collaborating in an attempt to raise funds to offer relief in the wake of the devastation brought by Hurricane Sandy to their home state. Catcher Jayson Hernandez, who spent 2012 in High-A Salem and Double-A Portland, started an initiative that he is calling #GrandSlamforSandy on Twitter. (Details of his initiative are here [1].)
He was joined by right-handers Anthony Ranaudo (who pitched in Double-A Portland this year) and Pat Light (a 2012 supplemental first-round pick who began his pro career with the Lowell Spinners this summer), both of whom are offering donations when their Twitter messages are retweeted. (For Light's twitter account, click here [2]. For Ranaudo's, click here [3].)
