The Patriots' charter plane carrying the team, support staff and friends and family arrived safely back in Boston just before noon on Monday, just beating the peak effects of Hurricane Sandy.
The team left early Monday morning from London's Heathrow Airport and made the trip west after being forced to spend the night in London. The team spent the night savoring their most dominant and complete victory of the season, a 45-7 romp over the Rams at Wembley Stadium.
The team made several contingency plans to stay in London should the effects of Hurricane Sandy have forced them to stay put in Great Britain.
Once on the ground in Boston Monday, several players tweeted their relief at being back home after the Virgin Atlantic Airlines double-decker charter landed at Logan at approximately 11:15 a.m.
Tweeted Sterling Moore: Thank God for a safe arrival back in Boston.
Wrote Stevan Ridley: Safe travels.. We are Back in the B!
Added Chandler Jones: Thank God for a safe flight from London back to Boston!
