With the team playing late Sunday afternoon in London, the Patriots are making multiple travel contingency plans in advance of Hurricane Sandy, including staying in London through mid-week, according to an NFL Network report.
Albert Breer reported Sunday that the Patriots are preparing for the possibility they may not be able to beat Hurricane Sandy and return to New England before the storm hits landfall since Heathrow Airport - where the team's charter plane is stationed - closes by British law at 11 p.m. London time. The Patriots play at 5 p.m. local time and may not make the window for returning home.
If the team can't make it out and beat the storm home, the Patriots, who enter the bye week after the game, could wind up staying in London through Wednesday, depending on how hard the East Coast is hit by the storm.
