Pedro Martinez said Wednesday he's talked with the Chicago Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays, and said he could be back on a major league mound soon. The 37-year-old right-hander said he hopes to sign a contract and back on the mound in the near future. "There's a good chance I'll be signing soon, but there still isn't anything firm," Martinez told The Associated Press. Martinez, who was a key figure on Boston's 2004 championship team, has a career 214-99 record with an ERA of 2.91 in 17 seasons with the Dodgers, Expos, Red Sox and Mets.
