With less than two weeks remaining before the start of the regular season, the Celtics are beginning to look like the team they think they'll be on opening night in Miami. With Kevin Garnett playing his most minutes this preseason and Paul Pierce finding the range yet again, the Celtics rolled to a 115-85 win over the Nets in Brooklyn.
Garnett scored 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting in 22 minutes, while Pierce dropped in 18 on just 9 shots. Rajon Rondo added 14 points and 9 assists and Courtney Lee also had 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Jason Terry, meanwhile, made all 5 of his 3-pointers and finished with 15 points as the C's shot 57 percent from the floor.
As good as they were offensively, the Celtics were at their best on the defensive end, holding the Nets to just 15 points in the first quarter on 3-for-16 shooting. That was exactly the kind of effort they were looking for after dropping their first two exhibition games stateside following their return from Europe.
The C's are back in action on Saturday night when they play the Knicks in Albany, and they return home to the Garden for their final preseason tuneup on Sunday when they take on the 76ers.
