Spencer Hawes might have been the best player on the court. That's all you need to know about the Celtics' 107-75 preseason loss to the 76ers.
Hawes finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes, and Thaddeus Young (15 points), Nick Young (14 points), Lavoy Allen (11 points) and Evan Turner (10 points) all reached double figures to hand the C's their third loss in four preseason games.
Neither Kevin Garnett (rest) nor Andrew Bynum (knee) participated, and C's starting center Darko Milicic left with a sore wrist. Paul Pierce (16 points) and Brandon Bass (11 points) were the only Celtics to eclipse 10 points. Meanwhile, six different C's committed at least two of the team's 20 turnovers.
