FOXBORO -- One day after returning to the field, tight end Michael Hoomanawanui was not spotted at the start of Patriots practice in shells on Friday on the main Gillette Stadium field.
Hoomanawanui sustained a concussion on Sunday, forcing him to miss practice on Wednesday. He returned Thursday before not being seen Friday during the media portion of practice.
Also not spotted were receiver Julian Edelman (left hand) and safety Steve Gregory (hip). Both missed practice all week, a likely sign that both will be out this Sunday afternoon against the Broncos. Edelman injured his left hand at the end of the first half against the Ravens on Sept. 23 and hasn't played or practiced since while Gregory injured his hip in Sunday's win over the Bills and hasn't practiced all week.
After missing Thursday's practice for "non-football related" reasons, cornerback Ras-I Dowling was back at practice on Friday.
Aaron Hernandez was again at practice on Friday, his second straight practice since missing two weeks with a sprained right ankle.
The Patriots play Peyton Manning and the Broncos at 4:25 Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. For more, visit the Patriots team page at weei.com/patriots [1].
