Confirming what the veteran defenseman had said he intended to do for weeks, Dennis Seidenberg has agreed to play for Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga during the NHL lockout. The team announced the agreement on Friday.
Seidenberg will join his younger brother Yannic, a winger on the team.
“The last time I played with him was like 10 or 11 years ago,” Seidenberg said recently of Yannic, “so it would be nice to get back there if you could take one positive out of this.”
Seidenberg joins David Krejci and Andrew Ference (Czech Extraliga), Anton Khudobin (KHL) and Tyler Seguin (Swiss Elite League) as players to head overseas for the lockout.
