Celtics assistant general manager Mike Zarren "is a serious candidate" to replace Rod Thorn as 76ers general manager, according to Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick [1].
Considered C's president Danny Ainge's right-hand man, Zarren has earned a reputation as the numbers guy behind the C's study of advanced statistical metrics and the complex NBA salary cap. Former Trail Blazers assistant general manager Tom Penn and former Hornets GM Jeff Bower are also considered leading candidates.
