Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, in his interview on The Big Show on Friday afternoon, said that Glen "Big Baby" Davis will likely play in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals series between the Celtics and Magic on Friday, but he said that Rasheed Wallace will be a game-time decision and Marquis Daniels will not play. Davis and Daniels both suffered concussions in Game 5, while Wallace left the contest due to a back injury. In Daniels' place, Brian Scalabrine will suit up on Friday.
Ainge also said that he was unaware of any injury or health concerns related to point guard Rajon Rondo.
"He's fine," said Ainge. "I am not aware of any spasms or cramps."
Ainge, in addition to noting that he felt both of Kendrick Perkins' Game 5 technicals should have been rescinded, stressed the team's need to play improved defense. Rebounding was an issue Ainge pointed to specifically.
"In Game 5 our defense was nowhere near what it was in Games 1, 2 and 3," Ainge said. "It wasn’t because of what they were doing as much as [it was that] we are not doing it at the right level. We played the last three games against Cleveland and the first three games against Orlando [with] amazing defense and then there was a little bit of a letup. I don’t think we played with the same intensity, and you can tell by the rebound numbers."
