Jon Lester, perhaps in response to a radio appearance by Peter Gammons in which the Hall of Fame writer suggested Lester was "so unhappy" in Boston, posted the following on his Twitter page late Wednesday night:
"Guys, I love Boston, very happy here. Nothing better than playing for the @RedSox, hope to be here for my entire career," Lester wrote.
Gammons appeared on CBS radio in Boston on Wednesday afternoon and was asked about the possibility of Lester, 5-6 with a 4.49 ERA this season, being traded this season.
"I just sense that Jon is so unhappy here that I’m sure it would be good for him," Gammons said. "The question is how would the team survive without the hope of having Lester go out and win 10 games in the second half of the year?"
