According to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun (via twitter [1]), the Bruins are closing in on a new contract with goaltender Tuukka Rask.
Rask, 25, is set to become the team's No. 1 goaltender this coming season, as starter Tim Thomas is taking a year off from hockey. Last season, Rask had a 2.05 goals-against average and .929 save percentage in 22 games (23 starts). He suffered an abdomen/groin injury in March and missed the rest of the regular season.
