Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was named a second-team NHL All-Star Wednesday, marking the sixth time he's been named an All-Star for a full season.
It's Chara's fourth time being named to the second team, as he's been a first-team All-Star twice in his career. He had a career-best 52 points (12 goals, 40 assists) during the regular season with a plus-33 rating to lead all defensemen.
The first team consists of Evgeni Malkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, James Neal, Shea Weber, Erik Karlsson and Henrik Lundqvist. Joining Chara on the second team are Steven Stamkos, Ray Whitney, Marian Gaborik, Alex Pietrangelo and Jonathan Quick.
