Speaking to the Boston Globe Monday, Tim Thomas' agent said that the veteran goaltender's decision to not play next season is not a ploy to get a contract extension or to be traded to another team.
Thomas, 38, has one season remaining on his four-year, $20 million deal, but indicated via Facebook that he will spend the next season focusing on "friends, family and faith."
“It didn’t have anything to do with a contract or trade,” agent Bill Zito told Fluto Shinzawa [1]. “It did not.”
