Aaron Cook said that he threw three simulated innings recently against Red Sox teammates, and anticipates that as soon as he's eligible to come off the disabled list, he will be physically ready to do so.
"It's going well," he said of his recovery from a gash incurred in his start on May 5. "It's just a matter of getting the stitches out and then coming off the DL."
However, the determination about when he will be activated remains unresolved.
"We haven't really talked about that," said Cook. "There's more factors that go into that than just being healthy, I think."
