The Patriots will host a press conference on Monday to announce formally the retirement of Matt Light after 11 years as an anchor of New England's offensive line. Light was named to the Pro Bowl three times and appeared in 175 games, starting 173 of them at left tackle. After the Patriots took him in the second round of the 2001 draft, the 33-year-old went on to play in five Super Bowls and six AFC Championship games.
Though he signed a two-year contract with the Patriots last summer, Light will make official on Monday his decision to walk away from the gridiron.
