ATLANTA -- Rajon Rondo wasn't on the court for Game 2 of the Celtics first round series. He was somewhere in the back, suspended for the game by the NBA after he bumped official Marc Davis in the final minute of Game 1.
Without their All-Star point guard, the Celtics pulled out an improbable 87-80 victory over the Hawks after they rallied from an 11-point third quarter deficit and held Atlanta to just 14 points in the fourth quarter.
"We did this for him tonight," Keyon Dooling said. "This is a tribute to Rondo. We got his back."
Rondo will be back in the lineup when play resumes on Friday back at the Garden. His late-game mistake now seems a lot easier to take after his teammates rallied to even the series.
