The Celtics could have made things easier on themselves against the Wizards on Sunday, but they'll take the wins any way they can get them right now. The C's escaped Washington with a 94-86 victory that was a lot closer than it needed to be after they opened up a 17-point halftime lead.
Rajon Rondo recorded his first triple-double of the season with 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. He was dominant in the second half, helping the Celtics get through a rough stretch. Kevin Garnett also had his best game of the young season with 24 points and nine rebounds. Ray Allen added 13 points.
The Celtics are back in action on Monday night against the same Wizards at TD Garden, beginning a five-game homestand. It will be worth noting how they react to playing their second back-to-back of the season. Their first one ended in a terrible loss at New Orleans.
