According to multiple reports, the Patriots will place defensive end Andre Carter on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a leg injury in the final play of he first quarter in Sunday's win over the Broncos. Carter was engaged in a block by Broncos tight end Daniel Fells when he broke free but stumbled backwards and fell to the ground. He immediately grabbed his left knee and a cart came onto the field to take him to the Patriots locker room. He was accompanied on the cart by team medical director Tom Gill. Carter entered the game as the team's leader in sacks (10) and quarterback hits (22).
