WALTHAM -- The Celtics announced that they had signed restricted free agent Jeff Green on Saturday, but Green still hasn't been able to practice yet. Team president Danny Ainge shed some light on Green's status after the team conducted practice on Monday.
"We found something in the physical that we anticipate is fine," Ainge said. "We're just being cautious. We just have to be real cautious.'
Ainge said that Green would go through tests Monday and Tuesday. Asked if it could nullify the deal, Ainge responded, "Oh, no, no, no. We're not close to that yet. It's just precautionary. Practice just started today officially when we had our whole team here. It will be resolved this week."
Ainge also said that Sasha Pavlovic's deal was guaranteed and that they had used the taxpayer mid-level exception on Chris Wilcox. Both deals are for one year.
