The NBA will cancel at least two more weeks of the 2011-12 season on Tuesday, bringing the grand eradicated total to a month-plus, according to a New York Daily News report [1].
Theoretically, that means the Celtics would lose 13 games through Nov. 28, including back-to-back games in Miami and Orlando on Nov. 16-17 falling victim to the latest cuts. However, NBA commissioner David Stern has insisted in recent weeks that an 82-game season is still possible, meaning the entire NBA slate could be reconfigured should the lockout end.
Still, no further collective bargaining negotiations are scheduled, and Stern has suggested that games through Christmas Day should the lockout linger. Essentially, the 2011-12 NBA season ceases to exist as currently constituted. The Celtics could play anywhere between 0-82 games by June.
Here are the 13 games expected to be "canceled" by Tuesday's end:
Nov. 2: vs. Cavaliers
Nov. 4: at Hawks
Nov. 5: at Pacers
Nov. 9: vs. Bobcats
Nov. 11: vs. Clippers
Nov. 12: at Cavaliers
Nov. 16: at Heat
Nov. 17: at Magic
Nov. 20: vs. Warriors
Nov. 22: at Wizards
Nov. 23: vs. Raptors
Nov. 25: vs. Bucks
Nov. 27: at Pistons
