Former Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich has signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent.
"Decision is made I will be a #GIANT can't wait to get to #NYC. Thank you for everything." tweeted Herzlich on Tuesday morning.
The 2008 ACC Defensive Player of the Year -- who missed the 2009 season as he overcame Ewing’s sarcoma -- was not chosen in April's NFL Draft. There were several reports on Monday that had Herzlich potentially landing in Baltimore, but the linebacker instead heads to the Giants, a team loaded with BC connections, including head coach Tom Coughlin (and several assistant coaches and members of the front office) and guard Chris Snee.
