On December 15, 2005 Sports Radio WEEI 850 AM announced that Mike Adams was going to take over as permanent host of the night-time slot from 7 PM - Midnight. His show, called Planet Mikey, made it's debut. Adams, a regular contributor to the station, got the gig after a bold act of defiance during which he locked WEEI host Glenn Ordway out of the studio. Adams barricaded himself in the studio shortly after 6 PM refusing to yield the microphone until Program Director Jason Wolfe gave him the job.
