Jon Wallach
|
 An Achievement in Radio award winner for the best sports coverage in Boston. Jon Wallach has been working for sports radio WEEI for over ten years. Jon currently is the mid-day "flash guy" for the Dale and Holley Program, and has also co-hosted his own weekend talk show, first with Pete Sheppard, and then with Greg Dickerson. His current duties also include reporting from Red Sox, Patriots and Boston College home games, and filling in as the host of both the mid-day and evening talk shows. He has been covering all of the local teams since 1990.
In the past Jon has also served as the overnight host on Sports Radio WEEI after all three Patriots Superbowl wins, and during the Red Sox Playoff run to a World Series Championship back in 2004.
He began he professional career on WKBR-AM in Manchester, NH in the fall of 1989, doing sports updates for the morning show. From there he was hired as sports anchor for WICE radio in Providence and then as a reporter for Global Radio where he covered such events as the World Series, the AFC Championship game, the Final Four, the Stanley Cup finals, NBA Finals, and both the U.S. Open Golf and Tennis Tournaments.
His play-by-play experience includes the Providence Bruins, Providence College Basketball and both Brown University Hockey and Basketball. He also has appeared on local television as a quest on Fox Sports New England, New England Cable News and CN8 |
