Jon Meterparel joined the Dennis and Callahan show in February 2000. He started his career at WKOX in Framingham where he hosted an afternoon sports show. One year later, he moved to WFNZ in Charlotte, NC where he spent two and a half years as the sports flasher on "PRIMETIME", the highest rated sports show in the region. Meter was hired by WEEI after Gerry Callahan who was a guest on "Primetime" and felt he would be a great addition to the show.
The Weston native was one of the voices for the Triple A Charlotte Knights for two years and was the color analyst for UNC Charlotte basketball for a season. Meterparel was the play-by-play announcer for New England Revolution and is the play-by-play of Harvard basketball as well as the voice of the Boston College Eagles Football Team.
Meterparel is married to Heather and the couple welcomed thier first child Benjamin in August 2005. In his spare time, he enjoys filing Dennis' nails and waxing Callahan's forehead, along with attending art house movies
Meter is thrilled with his successes but takes time to reach out to his beginings, to prove it he drops his laundry off to his mother's twice a week. |
