Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is pleading with the NFL to rethink its ban on televising the Giants-Vikings game in Connecticut. In a letter Blumenthal wrote to the NFL, he argued that Connecticut residents should have access to the game.

“Fans in the Giants’ home viewing area should not be penalized for such an unusual event as the collapse of a stadium roof. It is unreasonable and unfair to suddenly and arbitrarily boot Giants fans in Connecticut out of what is and should be part of the team’s home market for this game,” Blumenthal said.

The game was originally scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. before travel issues and issues with Metrodome roof moved the game to Detroit and a 7:20 start Monday night. Currently, the game will only be shown in New York and Minnesota markets, and on DirectTV.

The NFL will re-air the game on the NFL Network at midnight, after the completion after the original Monday Night Football game between the Ravens and Texans.
