Admit it. You like ripping people behind their backs. We all do. Yes, I happen to be one of those rare cases where it’s just as much fun to do it square to my face, but be that as it may, you’re still going to have a rare opportunity here the next couple of weeks. I’m taking some time off. It’s July, and that means that big pile of sand 30 miles to the south of Cape Cod is beckoning. I’ve often said that Red Sox games have become so gentrified that Fenway feels like the fast ferry to Nantucket. Most people assume I mean that in a bad way. Au contraire. Anyway, the d-bag mailbag will remain. Kirk Minihane is taking over. He’ll field your insults directed towards me, him or anyone else. Fire away with whatever you’ve got at kminihane@weei.com. Kirk’s got game. OK, Rob made me say that. The best thing I can say about Kirk is that, unlike my boss, he doesn’t have a grotesque, unkempt mangina on his chin. And that’s worth

Another day, another dollar here at the d-bag mailbag. We’ve hit the dog days of summer and we continue to crank out the swill. We can’t be stopped -- no matter how much you’d like us to be. We’re like a fungus. Or a mold. Or that thing on Bradford’s face. We just keep coming at you. Nothing too vicious or obscene this week. I promise that won’t happen again… -- Hey Mike, Danny did a great job getting KG and Ray but we will see if he can measure up to BB when he replaces the big three as their contracts expire over the next couple of years. Brady crying and stamping his feet after losing Deion forced BB to alter his defense-first philosophy and get Moss and Welker. He let the defense get old to make his diva happy and paid the price. Let’s see Danny or Theo add coaching to their duties and see how they stand up. Pugs A: You’re right, of course. To truly be thought of in Belichick’s league, Danny has to do it

With the NBA and NHL drafts recently completed, the baseball draft just three weeks in the past and the Patriots set to head to training camp next month with a host of key draft picks on defense, now seems as good a time as any to play a little game: If you were going grocery shopping and wanted someone to push the cart, who among Boston's four general managers would you chose for the job? You can only have one. Who is the best at picking them. It's a tough call, because for the time ever (I think) all four GMs are worthy of discussion. And at least three -- Bill Belichick, Theo Epstein and Danny Ainge -- are among the very best at what they do. As hard as it is to chose one over the other, we'll give it a shot below. Keep in mind, this ranking only involves drafting ability. We're not addressing trades, salary cap management or other aspects of the job. This is purely about walking into a high school gym or a college athletic facility and judging who can play and who can't. Here's how

You all know I enjoy hate mail. It keeps me going when times get rough, and it’s the lifeblood of the d-bag mailbag. But I’ve got to be honest. As much I enjoy getting abused, I take nearly as much pleasure in you folks abusing the people I work with. Namely, Tanguay and Dickerson. Any mention of Bradford and his Mangina works for me, too, as does any attack on the BBWAA. It’s at moments like those that I feel it’s all worthwhile. And so with that as a backdrop, I bring you another edition of the bag, where we happily spread the hate. -- Felger, I know you love to make fun of the ``green teamers’’ about their irrational homerism when it comes to the Celtics. (Felger: Moi?) And when it comes to the Rondo trade rumors, I have to agree with you. Less then two months ago Rondo was the second best point guard in Celtic franchise history. Now a lot of people seem okay dangling him in trade rumors. The biggest reason I seem to hear is
