About Rob Bradford

Rob Bradford joined WEEI.com after serving as a Red Sox beat writer for the Boston Herald and the Eagle-Tribune (Lawrence, Mass.). Prior to manning the Red Sox beat, he spent several years at the Lowell Sun. He has written two books: “Chasing Steinbrenner,” following the front offices of the Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays through the 2003 season, and “Deep Drive: A Long Journey to Discovering the Champion Within,” which he co-authored with Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell.

MIAMI -- This we know … Kevin Youkilis would like a resolution as to what his immediate future holds. "I think in everything we do you would like to know, but that's not how business works," he said. "You would like to know what they're thinking in any line of work."

MIAMI -- The answer was halfway completed when Dustin Pedroia stopped in mid-sentence.  On the television near his locker was the second baseman's image, with some less-than-flattering stats pointing out Pedroia's recent struggles.

"I kind of would like to try it. It's something I would like to do. It would kind of challenge myself. You've never proven yourself, but I know I can do the reliever thing for myself, just as a personal challenge, [starting] would be cool." -- Daniel Bard of starting, Feb. 11, 2011.

Tito, out! It was Terry Francona's execution of this sentiment that had some of his former players buzzing after the big Fenway Park celebration Friday.
Rob Bradford
