NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- This we know: despite Ben Cherington's description of his ideal right fielder, Dwight Evans is not walking through that door. After that, it's anybody's guess who will man the right side of the Red Sox' outfield.
Rob Bradford
11/26/2012 - 12:10am
The Red Sox haven't executed the kind of shock-and-awe signings on which some in these parts might be judging their offseason. But what they've done to this point is telling.
Rob Bradford
11/20/2012 - 10:59am
So, you're asking, "What's the holdup? When are the Red Sox going to spring into action?" Patience.

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- The issue revolves around a pitcher who will be 38 years old when next season begins. Still, believe or not, the battle for Hiroki Kuroda could represent a historic moment in the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry.
Rob Bradford
11/08/2012 - 5:32am
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- The answers weren't going to be forthcoming during the two days of General Managers meetings this week. But that doesn't mean significant steps toward finding solutions weren't being taken at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort Wednesday.

"Just because we're in the fact-checking era …" -- Bobby Valentine to Bob Costas Tuesday night. Exactly.
Rob Bradford

It is perhaps the most important skill a baseball front office can possess these days -- understanding when it's the right time to swoop in with contract extensions.
Rob Bradford

Rob Bradford
10/04/2012 - 1:35pm
In the end, Bobby Valentine couldn't stop the negative momentum from September 2011, and the result was the need for yet another Red Sox manager.
Rob Bradford
10/02/2012 - 3:15am
NEW YORK -- The question was posed to David Ortiz: "Do you think you have a better shot at getting a two-year deal heading into this offseason than at this time last offseason?" It was met with another inquiry.
Rob Bradford
09/28/2012 - 7:23am
He gets it, but that doesn't make it any less painful.
Rob Bradford
09/26/2012 - 7:54am
That kind of pitcher -- the one you saw Tuesday night in a Rays uniform in the form of David Price -- was supposed to be Jon Lester this season. It will have to wait.
