TORONTO -- Who knows what's going to happen? The career path for Jackie Bradley Jr. is undefined. There can be a wave of comparisons and simulations, but getting through an entire major league season will be the only true springboard for semi-valid predictions.

TORONTO – Games like Friday night make you remember. Jake Peavy is a pretty good pitcher.
Rob Bradford
04/24/2014 - 3:07am
David Ortiz dubbed it "way too obvious." A.J. Pierzynski said, "It's bad for the game, it's bad for everything." Jake Peavy dubbed it "offensive." All true.

04/18/2014 - 8:40am
"What next level is there?" -- Jon Lester to WEEI.com, 2013 spring training Jon Lester has officially answered his own question.
Rob Bradford
04/12/2014 - 11:38pm
NEW YORK -- If they want to keep Jon Lester -- truly keep Jon Lester -- the Red Sox are obviously going to have to do better. Potentially a lot better.
Rob Bradford
04/12/2014 - 2:41am
NEW YORK -- The word was passed down to the members of the Red Sox bullpen just before Friday night's National Anthem -- Koji Uehara would not be available to close out any Sox win at Yankee Stadium that evening.
Rob Bradford
04/10/2014 - 7:34am
So, this is what it feels like. The Red Sox are heading to New York to take on the Yankees as the team with Mariano Rivera.
Rob Bradford
04/04/2014 - 7:10am
Stop for a minute. Forget about Jon Lester's contract, the Milwaukee Brewers or any fretting that goes with knowing Xander Bogaerts still will be represented by Scott Boras six years from now.
Rob Bradford
04/03/2014 - 3:26am
BALTIMORE -- He knows the deal. He wants to change the deal.
Rob Bradford
04/01/2014 - 6:39am
BALTIMORE -- It's been more than two years since Boston has seen one of its teams up there. On the podium, just behind the president, punctuating a world championship in suits while laughing at jokes from the world's most powerful man and waiting to execute a memorable handshake. That was the Bruins' big day (or at least we thought).

03/31/2014 - 1:53am
"One hundred and 62. That's my goal. I want to play every day." -- Shane Victorino in mid-March

03/24/2014 - 2:07am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The argument is a convenient one for those believing Sunday’s news of David Ortiz’s extension should have never come: Just let the designated hitter play out another season and worry about re-signing him after that.
Rob Bradford
03/21/2014 - 9:54am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- He was hesitant to reveal his secret, but Xander Bogaerts couldn't help himself.
Rob Bradford
03/20/2014 - 2:15am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- First, the latest on Grady Sizemore … - He is scheduled to play Thursday night against the Yankees, completing another round of back-to-back appearances.

"It's been a while since I've felt good enough to do something like that. It's a good feeling." -- Grady Sizemore FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Days like Monday at JetBlue Park make you remember ... and forget.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Mike Napoli is officially in the middle of it -- the lineup and a pretty important debate.
Rob Bradford
03/13/2014 - 12:16am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The uncomfortable reality of what awaits David Ortiz has cropped up in these early days of spring training. And don't think for a moment the Red Sox designated hitter hasn't taken notice.
Rob Bradford
03/10/2014 - 12:36am
BRADENTON, Fla. -- It's been more than four months now, so why stop here? Question (paraphrased): "Are you surprised Stephen Drew is still out there?" Answer: "I really don’t have anything to say about him. He’s a free agent. That’s where it stands."
Rob Bradford
03/05/2014 - 7:49pm
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- "I’m sure you guys will know before I do on anything that happens. But nothing has gone on recently."
Rob Bradford
03/05/2014 - 8:58am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- For some, the bandage might represent a whole new level of anxiety for an already anxious time. Injuries during contract years -- even in the early days of spring training -- can paint an uncomfortable picture. The player knows he needs a good year to get that next deal, and any bump in the road makes for some out-of-the-game uneasiness.
Rob Bradford
03/04/2014 - 6:56am
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Looking for another Red Sox captain? Don't hold your breath. "I'm not even the captain of my own house," quipped Dustin Pedroia.
Rob Bradford
02/12/2014 - 8:15am
The questions revolved around his health, his preparation and even his weight. But not once during his mini-media session outside JetBlue Park Monday did Clay Buchholz talk about his contract. (That would come a bit later.)

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- And so it begins for Grady Sizemore.
