Kirk Minihane thinks "Slap Shot" is -- without argument -- the best sports movie ever made and is also convinced the 1985-86 Celtics would have finished with a record of 78-4 if they had cared about the regular season. He has been a columnist at WEEI.com since 2009 and is the co-host of "Sports Saturday" on WEEI.

Patriots Mailbag: Ready for more MVP talk?
Mailbag Time and I'm wearing Uggs and waiting for a call back from Leonard Hair Transplant Associates.  Yup, this is home base of Camp Brady. And my column on Monday suggesting that Brady is the clear-cut MVP brought the expected feedback.

Patriots Report Card: Has Brady ever been better?
Report Card time and we'll look forward by looking back. Sure, we'll hand out the grades from last Thursday's win by the Patriots over the Lions, but it's been four days since we got to watch Kid Rock and listen to The Rock and everything else from the 45-24 (much closer than that final, by the way) Thanksgiving game. It's time to get ready for the Jets. So we'll try and figure out if anything we saw in the Lions game might be factor in next Monday night's heavyweight battle. The Three-Pointer: Rondo returns but Garnett stands out
There wasn't a whole lot of revenge talk in the Celtics' locker room prior to Friday's game with the Raptors (in fairness there wasn't much talk at all. The highlight was probably Nate Robinson reading the birthday card he gave Avery Bradley, who turned 20 on Friday). Sure, last Sunday's 102-101 defeat at Toronto fell in the "mild shocker" category, but a veteran-led team isn't going to get too worked up over any November loss. But come on, there had to be some need to get back at these guys, right? Isn't that human nature?

Patriots Report Card: The undrafted duo top the class in win over Colts
Report Card time and I'm still not sure what he would have done. Bill Belichick, I mean. Let's just say that Tom Brady's incomplete pass to Wes Welker on third-and-7 with 2:30 left in the fourth quarter had in fact been completed and turned into a five-yard gain.

What a difference a year makes for Patriots defense
First: On Sunday Peyton Manning was as close to great as you can be without actually being great. I know, I know -- he didn't get it done when it mattered, he had three interceptions, all that matters is the final score. All true, I suppose.

Report Card: High grades all around after dominant performance
Report Card time and a shocking return to the written lap dance.  How can it not be? Simply a dominant performance on Sunday night (I'm still stunned), and the grades have to reflect that. Mr. Wrong: Why I'm done trying to figure out the Patriots
If you want insight of any value when it comes to the 2010 New England Patriots I would suggest that you stop reading and look somewhere else. I know nothing. And when I mean nothing, I mean nothing. I just had to do a spell check on "Brady." Wait, Belichick cuts his sweatshirt? Basically I'm as clueless as Andrea Kramer during her halftime update Sunday night.

Patriots Report Card: Time to break out the red pen
Report Card time and I think we've heard and read enough about Tom Brady's body language and yelling on the sidelines and the press conference after the game Sunday. Who cares? Brady was pissed and frustrated and acted exactly like he did when things didn't go well in 2003 and 2005 or last year or his junior year at San Mateo.
