Come on people. Enough of this pucking doom and gloom. Yes, the Bruins have dropped three straight. Yes, there could be reason for panic at the rink.

Think twice before making plans for Friday night. The Bruins just might be taking the ice that evening.

You can see where this is going, right? It’s starting to become so clear. We are just three weeks into the two-month war of attrition that is the Stanley Cup playoffs, but a nice black-and-gold picture is starting to develop.

They have wobbled, stumbled — and even taken a few steps backward over the past six months, but your 2009-10 Bruins have now triumphantly shaken hands at center ice with a defeated foe and moved on to the second round of the playoffs.

02/06/2010 - 7:15pm
Let’s just cut to the chase. Here are three things that every hockey fan in New England has become painfully aware of during the last three weeks: The Bruins can’t hold a lead. The Bruins can’t win a shootout. The Bruins can’t win a game.

Instead of a new teammate, the Bruins welcomed a resilient and familiar nemesis back to TD Garden Thursday.

02/03/2010 - 1:10am
When was the last time you saw a Bruins forward pounce on an ill-advised pass by the opposition in the defensive zone and turn it into a goal? When was the last time you saw a Bruins defenseman carry the puck through center, swiftly break down the wing and feather a pass for a teammate to swipe into the opposing goal?

Is it time to start investigating the curse of GaryBettmanino ? One month after raising their retired numbers to the top of Fenway Park as part of the Winter Classic, the Bruins still have not won a home game at TD Garden.
Graig Woodburn
01/30/2010 - 1:05am
The Bruins got back to playing competitive hockey Friday. There were no glaring defensive blunders, no absentminded gaffes with the puck, no shortage of effort. But, as is often the case when playing a generally solid game, a few missed scoring chances, a few too many penalties and some tough play by the opposing goaltender presented too much of a challenge to overcome.

The Bruins’ pursuit of Atlanta Thrashers explosive forward Ilya Kovalchuk may have hit an impasse that will require some further negotiations to overcome.

LOS ANGELES — On a day when they lost some more key players, the Bruins still managed to look like a team that is getting stronger. After 35 minutes of hockey Saturday, the B’s were well-positioned to end a three-game tour of a California on a highly positive winning note.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The warm California sun helped thaw out the Bruins offense, but it didn’t do much to change the team’s recent fortunes.

Skating Saturday afternoon without two of their top centers, the Bruins looked like a team trying to find its game at both ends of the rink.

01/08/2010 - 1:43am
A tough week for the Bruins grew a little bleaker Thursday as they were presented with the question of how they would play against one of the best teams in the league while skating without their two best centers and two of their top six defenseman.

The Bruins were ready for this one. Responding to some sharp criticism from their coach and the loss of one of their top players, the Bruins unleashed an energetic first-period attack to take a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place Tuesday.
