Tuesday’s win over the Lightning gave the Bruins three consecutive wins after failing to do so in their previous 41 games.

The Bruins received excellent news Sunday night when Rich Peverley finally made his return from a right knee sprain. Though the B's never made excuses over the last couple of months for their poor play that often saw a lack of scoring, it was obvious that the team would be better off once it got Peverley and Nathan Horton (concussion) back.

Can the Bruins make a deep run this year?

03/19/2012 - 11:21pm
It seems there is finally a solution to the Bruins’ issue of needing points while also needing to rest Tim Thomas: Play the Maple Leafs.

Losing creates desperation, but a team needs more than desperation to turn things around. The Bruins swung the right balance between desperation and determination Saturday as they turned in a much stronger effort and broke their four-game losing streak with a 3-2 shootout win over the Flyers.

When the Bruins fall into seventh place in the Eastern conference (it should happen sometime around 9:30 p.m. Friday as long as the Senators can win a home game against the cellar-dwelling Canadiens), the collapse of the 2011-12 Bruins will reach a new low.  Collapse.

03/14/2012 - 12:50am
Well, Bruins fans, it looks like it just might happen. I’ll even venture a guess that it will: The Ottawa Senators will be the Northeast Division champions.

Claude Julien isn’t afraid to say that he’s doing the best he can when it comes to putting together a solid top-six with the injuries the Bruins have up front.

Peyton Manning was destined to rule the offseason. He has, and will continue to, in more ways than one.

It’s funny what a difference a few days -- and a few guys a team doesn’t normally count on -- can make.

There was a time when Jordan Caron could have been considered the Ross Ventrone of the Bruins.

Might Tuukka Rask's injury be the one that really cripples the 2011-12 Bruins?

After the Bruins were shut out for the fifth time in February on Tuesday night, Claude Julien was asked whether he was concerned about his offense given all the blankings. His answer was brief.  “No,” the coach responded.

WILMINGTON -- The trade deadline had passed on Monday, and Wild defenseman Greg Zanon was in his basement playing Wii with his daughter. He thought earlier in the season that he might have been traded, but that clearly wasn't to be. He would ride out the end of his contract as a member of the Wild. Then, at 2:15 p.m. CST, his wife came running down the stairs.

The good news about this leap year is that Bruins don’t have to play on Feb. 29.
DJ Bean
02/27/2012 - 10:36pm
When it comes to the trade deadline, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli isn't been afraid of looking to the past. Just over a year ago, the former Senators GM swung a deal with Ottawa to bring Chris Kelly, a center from Chiarelli and Zdeno Chara's days, to Boston.

02/18/2012 - 2:27am
The Bruins don’t have “it” right now, and they probably can’t get it in a trade. Given all the B’s have going on, fans have every right to be at the edge of their seats waiting to hear who’s coming to save the team. All the pieces are there.
DJ Bean
02/16/2012 - 1:51am
The Bruins are already playing without a key forward in Nathan Horton, and after Wednesday night's win over the Canadiens, they could be down one or two more.
DJ Bean
02/15/2012 - 2:22am
The Bruins gave Johnny Boychuk a contract that pays him like the Bruins' second-best defenseman. That makes the expectations on him over the course of this deal pretty clear.

02/13/2012 - 6:28pm
Chris Kelly is a pretty humble guy. Personable but self-described as "grumpy," the veteran center doesn’t ask to be praised, nor does he necessarily care for being in the spotlight. When you ask him why he’s having a career year, he talks about his teammates. To Kelly, it isn’t about him.

This time of the season, it goes without saying, victories are hard to come by. The Bruins turned in an effort Saturday that probably would have earned them a blowout victory two months ago, but instead got a hard-fought shootout win that they came 67 seconds away from losing in regulation.
DJ Bean
02/09/2012 - 1:39am
Before the Bruins got their rear ends handed to them in their worst loss of the season Wednesday, the spotlight was already on Tim Thomas.
DJ Bean
02/04/2012 - 6:27pm
The Bruins are still struggling, and they’re still losing.  That’s why, in some crazy way, they didn’t seem so upset after losing their second game in a row Saturday at TD Garden.  The reason they were more upbeat in the dressing room after Saturday’s game is simple: They were more upbeat on the ice.
DJ Bean
02/03/2012 - 1:35am
Way back on Jan. 18, some hack writer said that the Bruins’ stretch at the time (they were 5-4-0 over their previous nine games and were winning some games they easily could have lost) was as close to a slump as a team that good would get. It wasn’t really a slump, but a great team’s version of a slump.

While everyone probably is sick to death of all the Tim Thomas White House talk, there was one final voice that needed to be heard before the book could finally be closed, and that was the voice of the Garden crowd.
