For all of the talk of Tim Thomas leaving his teammates high and dry, he sure did come up big for the guy who sits next to him in the Bruins’ dressing room.
DJ Bean
06/03/2012 - 9:52pm
If you’re trying to figure out what Tim Thomas is thinking or doing, save yourself the headache and just give up. Take the good with the bewildering.
DJ Bean
05/24/2012 - 7:27pm
Hoping for the Bruins to spend big this offseason? Don’t count on it.
DJ Bean
04/27/2012 - 3:10pm
It's always something with Tim Thomas.
DJ Bean
04/26/2012 - 3:55am
The Bruins sat in their dressing room baffled by their fate. It was what you’d expect from a team that had just been eliminated: quiet guys, short sentences and the general sense that players were preoccupied with thinking about what could have been.
DJ Bean
04/23/2012 - 10:42pm
Tim Thomas’ most memorable games have come in the postseason. Now, it’s time for another one.

WASHINGTON – Based on six games of evidence, there are going to be two cities’ worth of hockey fans without fingernails come Wednesday night.
DJ Bean
04/21/2012 - 8:19pm
Two of the most intriguing words in all of sports are “if” and “necessary.”  If necessary, a series can go five, six or seven games. If necessary, a team that’s a win away from advancing might need two or three games to do it.
DJ Bean
04/20/2012 - 2:47am
WASHINGTON – David Krejci was the Bruins’ most productive offensive player last postseason. Any chance he’ll show up during these playoffs?

04/18/2012 - 6:09pm
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Brendan Shanahan has officially told the Bruins and Capitals to knock it off.  Shanahan’s had a lot on his plate this postseason, and in suspending Nicklas Backstrom for Game 4 for his cross-check to the face of Rich Peverley, the league disciplinarian has made this series the most recent one to get that message.

WASHINGTON – Here we are again. Another postseason, and another column about Dennis Seidenberg taking over.
DJ Bean
04/17/2012 - 1:17am
WASHINGTON – How might Brad Marchand, the Bruins’ resident wordsmith, summarize the direction in which the Eastern Conference quarterfinals is headed?   “The more you play each other, the more you hate each other,” Marchand said after the Bruins’ 4-3 victory over the Capitals.
DJ Bean
04/15/2012 - 9:05pm
WASHINGTON – The Capitals are for real.  As the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series shifts to the nation’s capital tied at one game apiece, it’s clear that the Bruins’ competition is stiff. The Capitals have handcuffed Boston’s offense, played two great road games and made two fanbases forget that they’re doing it with an AHL goalie.
DJ Bean
04/14/2012 - 10:51pm
Bruins fans should know this better than anybody: When the team defense is especially tight, the goalie’s work is a lot easier.
DJ Bean
04/13/2012 - 4:10pm
All you need to do is watch a Bruins game to know that defenseman Andrew Ference is the ultimate team player.  Though he only stands at 5-foot-11, Ference is guaranteed to stick up for his teammates on the ice no matter the cost. If a Bruin is the recipient of a hit Ference doesn’t like, the alternate captain will try to drop the gloves with the aggressor without fail.

If you need a scouting report on Chris Kelly, you probably shouldn’t ask Chris Kelly.
DJ Bean
04/11/2012 - 6:09am
Last season, the Bruins played three seven-game series en route to winning the Stanley Cup, and the first one came in the opening round against the Canadiens.  They won the Cup, but the B’s literally came a bounce away from being knocked out in the first round.

Zdeno Chara is expected to have his giant hands full over the next couple of weeks as he is charged with neutralizing one of the most electrifying scorers in the NHL.
DJ Bean
04/07/2012 - 10:03pm
The Bruins have a tough act to follow.  Unlike past years, Bruins fans know what the team is capable of. They saw the Bruins ride the best goaltender in the league, the best defensive pairing in the league and one of the deepest offenses in the league to a Stanley Cup victory.
DJ Bean
04/06/2012 - 4:52pm
Did you know that perhaps the biggest single season goaltending record is about to be broken by the St. Louis Blues’ No. 2 goalie?
DJ Bean
04/05/2012 - 11:50pm
It took longer than he would have liked, but a healthy Anton Khudobin finally started a game for the Bruins on Thursday, and he sent a message that both the B's and Boston fans needed to hear.
DJ Bean
04/04/2012 - 1:39am
Minnesota was the wrong place for Benoit Pouliot. So was Montreal. Until Pouliot arrived in Boston, he was used to being one of the most talented players on the roster, but one of the most disappointing.
DJ Bean
03/31/2012 - 12:47am
The playoffs are fast approaching. After this weekend, teams will play out the final weeks of their schedules, and it will be the same drill as every year. Sixteen teams are in, 14 are out, and everyone who’s in is excited for the playoffs.
DJ Bean
03/30/2012 - 12:41am
If the result of the game was the same no matter what, would you rather Tim Thomas have more periods like the first and second period Thursday, or like the third period and overtime?

03/28/2012 - 2:33pm
WILMINGTON -- Being a healthy scratch is nothing new to Daniel Paille. It's just been a while.
