When Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli speaks, it helps to have the ability to read between the lines. Like any GM, Chiarelli isn’t going to come right out and say what he is going to do. But, there are clues, whether it is the inflection in his voice, what he emphasizes or repeats through a press conference or the subtle hints he lays along the way.

Now come the questions. Does Peter Chiarelli fire Claude Julien on Tuesday? Do Jeremy and Charlie Jacobs decide to axe Chiarelli before the draft? What do you do about Tim Thomas?

The playoffs are all about buzzwords and catch phrases: pressure, backs against the wall, desperation. They fall to the ground like candy from a piñata. They are pertinent, sure, but when things are going bad, they are the crutch a player holds onto in trying to explain what happened to this once-golden opportunity.

Four games into his return from a Grade 2 concussion, there is still an all points’ bulletin out for the real Marc Savard that the Hub hockey denizens know and love.

PHILADELPHIA — When it became a near certainty the Flyers were going to lose Game 3 on Wednesday night, a Philadelphia fan sitting in the stands at the Wachovia Center tied up his orange playoff towel and did what his team had basically done. He threw it in.

05/04/2010 - 10:13pm
On to Philadelphia. The Bruins lead the best-of-seven series against the Flyers, 2-0. Boston has never trailed, and have scored the first goal in both games at the TD Garden. They have played hard, they have played physical and have been provided an emotional lift with the return of center Marc Savard.

05/04/2010 - 12:31am
When it comes to Milan Lucic, Monday night was the sort of evening Boston hockey fans have dreamed about since the big forward made his initial playoff mark against the Canadiens two years ago.

When Bruins rookie defenseman Johnny Boychuk is on the ice, he just wants to go hit something.
Dan Rowinski
04/20/2010 - 12:04am
Monday night, there were nothing but superlatives coming out of TD Garden.
Dan Rowinski
04/17/2010 - 6:36pm
With perhaps the best goaltender in the world opposing the Bruins, it seemed as if there was no way Boston would be able to overcome a 2-0 series deficit in a best-of-seven series against the Sabres.
