Christopher Price has covered the Boston sports scene for more then a dozen years, working for ESPN.com, SI.com and Baseball America as well as The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Miami Herald and Boston Metro. In that time, he’s established himself as an award-winning sportswriter who has been honored by Northeastern University, the New England Press Association and the North Carolina Press Association. In addition, he’s the author of the just published, “New England Patriots: The Complete Illustrated History” and two other books “Baseball by the Beach” and "The Blueprint: How the New England Patriots Beat the System to Create the Last Great NFL Superpower.”

FOXBORO -- With injuries to cornerback Ras-I Dowling (who landed on season-ending injured reserve) as well as safeties Pat Chung (who has missed the last two-plus weeks with a shoulder injury) and Steve Gregory (who hasn't played since Week 4 because of a hip problem), the Patriots have done a lot of shuffling in the secondary as of late.

FOXBORO -- During the bye week, Stevan Ridley isn’t going to be getting away from football. In fact, the Patriots’ running back has a football-heavy weekend planned -- he’ll be hitting his old high school for a Friday night game, followed by a trip to Baton Rouge on Saturday for LSU-Alabama.

The Patriots make their second trip to London for a regular season game in four years Sunday when they meet the Rams at Wembley Stadium. St. Louis, which enters the game at 3-4, has proven to be a talented young team -- beating the Cardinals and Seahawks, two teams that have already defeated New England.

Both Xander Bogaerts and Anthony Ranaudo punctuated their strong 2013 seasons with head-turning events on June 13. On that day, Bogaerts, the Red Sox' top prospect, was promoted from Double-A Portland Pawtucket, with the 20-year-old becoming one of the youngest position players in the affiliate's history.
