About Christopher Price

Christopher Price has covered the Boston sports scene for more then a dozen years, working for ESPN.com, SI.com and Baseball America as well as The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Miami Herald and Boston Metro. In that time, he’s established himself as an award-winning sportswriter who has been honored by Northeastern University, the New England Press Association and the North Carolina Press Association. In addition, he’s the author of the just published, “New England Patriots: The Complete Illustrated History” and two other books “Baseball by the Beach” and "The Blueprint: How the New England Patriots Beat the System to Create the Last Great NFL Superpower.”

FOXBORO — A day after being sent home for coming to work late on Wednesday morning, Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas explained himself to reporters Thursday morning at Gillette Stadium. In an 11-minute session at his locker with the media, Thomas said he was nine minutes late to the 8 a.m. meeting because of the snow, and added he notified the team he was going to be late, which Thomas indicated was team policy.

FOXBORO — Kevin Faulk has played alongside Tom Brady longer anyone else in the Patriots locker room. So when he saw Brady acting differently than he had in the past earlier this season, he decided to confront the quarterback.

It’s not a hat and T-shirt game, but it’s awful close. The phrase was a favorite of former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi. It was a game, explained Bruschi, where the stakes were so high that, after the winners came back to their locker room, they found a new hat and T-shirt hanging in their lockers that commemorated a milestone — division championship, conference title or Super Bowl win — because of the victory.

Ousted at Notre Dame earlier this week, Charlie Weis likely won’t be out of football for long. For the most part, over the years, Bill Belichick’s former assistants have been an extremely tight-knit group that has always gone out of its way to support one another. If one is fired, the rest of the group leaps to his defense.

FOXBORO — Momentum is a fleeting thing. Over the last few weeks, the Patriots have had plenty of first-half momentum, rolling to early leads over Miami, Indianapolis and the New York Jets. Against the Dolphins, New England held a 16-10 halftime lead. Against the Colts, they were up 24-7 in the second quarter. And against the Jets, they held a 24-7 advantage at the half.
