What happens in Vegas will not only leave Vegas, but will outfit the league’s 31 teams for the foreseeable future, as the NHL and Adidas have announced that they will unveil each team’s new jersey for the 2017-18 in a June 20 event at Intrigue at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

Reported by SinBin.Vegas, it will be the official passing of the torch from Reebok, the league’s outfitter for the past decade, to Adidas.

Our first look at the future of hockey jerseys by Adidas came during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, where Adidas created every team’s look. The public reception for those jerseys were mixed, too, to say the least.

Much of what Adidas has planned has been kept under wraps, but it is known that they are definitely doing away with alternate jerseys, which means that you’re unlikely to see the throwback-styled jersey introduced at the 2016 Winter Classic and worn by the Bruins as their alternate home jersey this past season any time soon.

The Bruins are also among a dozen-plus teams that are expected to see their uniforms tweaked by Adidas.

The unveiling will take place the night before the 2017 NHL Awards Show.
