Two-time Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay killed in plane crash
Former Blue Jays and Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay was killed in a plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida on Tuesday, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office has confirmed. Halladay was 40 years old.
Halladay pitched for the Blue Jays for 12 seasons from 1998-2009 and won his first Cy Young Award in 2003. He then pitched four seasons for the Phillies and won another Cy Young Award there in 2010. He was an eight-time All-Star and led the majors in innings pitched four times and complete games seven times.
Halladay was reportedly flying his ICON A5 when he crashed. He had tweeted about the plane numerous times in recent weeks and said in one tweet that he had dreamed about owning one since he retired.
Halladay is survived by his wife and two children.

I’m really not big on posting pic’s of my stuff and I’ll never be on Cribs... but this A5 is so outrageous I’d feel guilty not sharing pics! pic.twitter.com/UUmZMfgsff
