FOXBORO -- There was a long list of Patriots players missing from practice Wednesday held in the rain on the grass fields behind Gillette Stadium.

The players not spotted included Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan, Marcus Cannon, David Andrews and Patrick Chung. Matthew Slater returned after missing last week's game against the Raiders.

Hogan, Andrews and Cannon did not play last week, while Chung got injured in the game, but did return. It's unclear what is keeping Brady and Gronkowski out.

There was a new No. 17, which is likely Bernard Reedy, who was recently released by Tampa Bay. It's been reported he's signed to the practice squad. He's known for his punt return abilities. Defensive lineman Mike Purcell appears to be released as the corresponding move.

The Patriots host the Dolphins Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
