FOXBORO -- Tom Brady has worked with hundreds of receivers over the years, but not many like Brandin Cooks.

Cooks isn't very tall, standing just 5-foot-10, but can play on the outside with some of the best in the game because of his pure speed.

Speaking on a conference call with the New Orleans media Wednesday, Tom Brady was asked who Cooks compares to and the Patriots quarterback had a tough time coming up with a comparison.

"I think he’s pretty unique," he said. "I don’t think there’s many that I’ve played with that are like him. Like I said, his maturity is probably what surprised me the most for a 23 year old athlete to be so – he’s just on it. Every day he shows up. He works his butt off. He wants to do extra. He wants to know what I’m thinking. He just wants to do the right thing all of the time. It’s fun to see."

Cooks has only been with the Patriots a few months, but he's made a good impression with a lot of people in the organization.

"Well, I’ve just loved the time I’ve had with him," Brady said. "He’s been so much fun to play with and to work with. He’s got great talent but he’s even a better person. He’s young. He’s professional. He’s diligent. He’s very competitive. I just have nothing but great things to say about him."

He finished with just three catches in the season opener against the Chiefs, so he and the Patriots hope he's a bit more productive in his return to New Orleans this Sunday.
