FOXBORO -- There were two members of the active roster missing from Patriots practice on Friday: Vincent Valentine and Rex Burkhead.

This means their availability for Sunday against the Texans is highly in doubt. The practice was held on the stadium field -- the first time the team has been on the new turf.

There was also a new No. 84 present, but unclear what the corresponding move is and whether it is on the active roster or practice squad.

[UPDATE 12:25 p.m.]: The new No. 84 is receiver Riley McCarron and signed to the practice squad, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. He was released from Texans' practice squad on Sept. 18.

Marcus Cannon and Rob Gronkowski were present, but it is worth noting Cannon was present Thursday, but listed as a did not participate. The media was only present for stretching.

The final injury report of the week is due out later Friday afternoon.
