Patriots running back James White joined Ordway, Merloni & Fauria on Monday to talk about the past week against the Texans and to look ahead as the regular season gets closer. To hear the full interview, visit the Ordway, Merloni & Fauria audio on demand page.

Dion Lewis never appeared to be fully back to 100 percent last year after tearing his ACL in 2015, but in the first few weeks this summer, he appears to have his explosiveness and quickness back.

White is a big fan of Lewis.

“He is an exciting football player," White said. "Every time the ball is in his hands it’s an opportunity for a big play. I know defenses must hold their breath every time he touches the rock. He can make an explosive play at any time. That’s my guy right there.”

With so many running backs on the roster, reps have been limited this summer, so White knows he needs to make the most of them when he actually gets them.

“Just working hard during practice and making the most of my reps," he said. "When I get out there in the games I try to make the most of my reps as well. Just trying to stay in game shape too, so when my opportunity presents itself I can go out there and play and execute the play call.”

Lastly, it was learned Fauria keeps his Super Bowl rings in his backpack. White laughed at him and said his rarely come out of a safe place at home.

“Locked away somewhere," he said. "It is definitely something I don’t ever wear unless it is a special function or something. I have yet to put them on, other than the ring ceremonies."
