FOXBORO -- There was good news coming out of Patriots practice on Wednesday held in full pads in the rain on the lower grass field behind Gillette Stadium.

After missing last week's practices, Dont'a Hightower, Danny Amendola, Matthew Slater and Vincent Valentine all returned. In addition, after getting hurt in Sunday's win Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan, Eric Rowe and Phillip Dorsett were all present.

[UPDATE: 5:30 p.m.]: According to the injury report, Gronkowski didn't practice.

There were two players missing in Marcus Cannon, who was questionable against the Saints, and Rex Burkhead, who suffered a rib injury in the game.

For the players present it's good news for their status on Sunday, but Cannon's absence is a little concerning, especially going up against J.J. Watt and the Texans defense.
