Ben Roethlisberger isn't happy JuJu Smith-Schuster and Rob Gronkowski got same suspension

It was a busy week for suspensions in the NFL.

Two of those players were Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Steelers rookie receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who were both suspended one game for their actions.

Gronkowski delivered a late hit on Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White while he was down following an interception, and then on Monday night Smith-Schuster laid out Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict with a peel-back block and then stood over him after the hit.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger doesn't think Smith-Schuster should have received the same suspension as Gronkowski.

"I don't like to compare players and suspensions, things like that, but if you look at what Gronk did and what JuJu did and they got the same suspension -- I don't know if that's necessarily fair," Roethlisberger said to reporters. "But that's above all of our pay grades."

Roethlisberger felt Smith-Schuster deserved a fine.

"I didn't think it was warranted," Roethlisberger said. "I thought a fine, a pretty steep fine, something like that. But, you know, I thought what happened -- the play that happened -- happened in the context of a football play. It wasn't away from the ball, wasn't a hit on a kicker, a defenseless player, it was a guy getting ready to make a tackle, a much bigger football player. Obviously, we don't like the taunting, the standing over him, things like that."

Both players will be able to return next week when the Patriots and Steelers meet in Pittsburgh.
