Farm Report: Michael Chavis continues Triple Crown pace

Here's what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Monday.

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (30-28): scheduled to play on Tuesday at Syracuse. 

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (28-30): scheduled to play on Tuesday at Altoona.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (40-24): W, 7-3 vs. Carolina Mudcats. 

- Michael Chavis went 3-for-3 with a powerful day at the plate. In the bottom of the 6th innng, he blasted his 17th home run of the season to take give Salem a 5-2 lead. Chavis, the 10th-best prospect in the Red Sox system, is currently leading the league in batting average, home runs, and RBIs.

- Jose Sermo went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a solo homer of his own, his fifth of the season. He is batting .269 after batting .292 last season in Salem. 

- Matthew Kent (5-2) got the win after eight innings pitched, allowing five hits and two runs and tallying seven strikeouts. He has an ERA of 4.01 this season and has collected 62 strikeouts in 13 games, 47 of those strikeouts coming in his last 10 appearances.

SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (38-25): W, 6-4 vs. Augusta

- The win kept the Drive in first place in the Southern Division.

- Second baseman Nick Lovullo went 2-for-3. He batted .243 in Salem after 23 games before being relocated to Greenville for the last 22 games. 

- Left-handed pitcher Robby Sexton got the win after 3 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed just one hit, with three strikeouts. The 14th round draft pick of 2016 has a 4.11 ERA after 12 games and nine starts. 

- The Drive will face the Columbia Fireflies on Tuesday, which features Tim Tebow. The Drive promoted on their Twitter that the fans in section 115 will win a Burger King coupon when Tebow strikes out. The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
