AROUND THE WEB:

-- The Giants suspended Eli Apple on Wednesday for one game as punishment for "a pattern of behavior that is conduct detrimental to the team."

Apple reportedly was involved in a confrontation with cornerbacks coach Tim Walton and had to be restrained by teammates. He then refused to talk to reporters during the media open locker room period.

Apple’s teammate Landon Collins called Apple a “cancer” during a radio interview on Tuesday before apologizing for the remark.

“I met with Coach Spags and Eli this morning and I apologized for the things I said yesterday. I never stop supporting my brother/teammate Eli and the rest of my teammates as we move forward. Just want him to know I'm always here for him,” Collins tweeted.

Apple reportedly has a history of irking teammates with his behavior and lack of professionalism and ESPN reports he is “in the doghouse” with the Giants.

He is the third Giants cornerback to be suspended this season, along with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Janoris Jenkins.

-- Danica Patrick is set to retire after the 2018 Daytona 500 and Indy 500 and already has some big plans for her post-racing life.

She just released a wellness book, “Pretty Intense,” and said in an interview with espnW this week she would also like to host a cooking show.

“Retirement looks bright! I think many people retire and don’t know what they’re going to do next and have to figure it out, but I know what I’m going to do. I don’t doubt that [retirement> will change and shift my life in ways I would never expect, so I’ve got to be ready for that,” she said. “ … I’d like to expand in the book world as well. I don’t even know what that might lead to, exactly. Maybe it leads to public speaking engagements — generally that arena of educating people. That could take any shape. I’d also like to have a cooking show, to help people learn how to cook healthily. So those are my retirement plans.”

Patrick frequently posts pictures of her food on Instagram.

Ya......-- . 2 eggs, 1/4 c pumpkin, 1T maca powder, 2T paleo flour, cinnamon, ashwagandha, reishi, collegen. Cooked in coconut oil. Cover the top of the pan with a splatter screen to cook the top faster so you can flip them. Topped with banana, cashew butter, vanilla ghee, hemp seeds, and a little maple syrup. De-Lish.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “If I didn’t play in the biggest game of the year, that told me I wouldn’t get any more snaps. So all that lip service you gave me before didn’t matter.” -- James Harrison, on the Steelers promising he would play against the Patriots in Week 15 before he signed with the Patriots this week
