The Red Sox announced Thursday former players Kevin Youkilis, Derek Lowe, Mike Lowell and the late Buck Freeman are the 2018 inductees into the team Hall of Fame.

The July 21, 1959 major league debut of Pumpsie Green, who was the first African American player in Red Sox history, has been chosen as the “Memorable Red Sox Moment,” which is “a moment in Red Sox history that is regarded for its special significance,” the press release stated.

Al Green, who has spent the last 44 years working for the Red Sox, was chosen as the non-uniformed inductee.

The inductees were chosen by a 21-person committee led by Red Sox team historian Gordon Edes and made up of team executives, local and national media members, historians and fan representatives.

The inductees will be honored at a Red Sox Foundation gala on May 24 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston.
