The Ball Family Circus kept rolling Tuesday morning when LaVar Ball and son LiAngelo made an appearance on the Today Show to discuss LiAngelo’s shoplifting arrest in China and the decision to pull him out of UCLA.

"We all went out one night, went through the malls, went to the Louis Vuitton store and people started taking stuff and me just not thinking and being with them, I took something, too," LiAngelo said of the lead-up to the arrest. "We left thinking we'd just get away. You know how kids think. I didn't realize til I got back to my hotel, I'm like, 'That was stupid.' But by the end, it was too late. Sure enough, the next morning, the police came and got us."

He said he and teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill spent "a day and a half or something like that" in jail.

"You just sit in a cement cell for however long," LiAngelo said. "It's just you and all the officers and they don't speak English."

LiAngelo, Riley and Hill were suspended indefinitely from the basketball team.

LaVar also explained to Today why LiAngelo is now leaving UCLA after only a few months.

"China already said, 'OK, you made a bad mistake. We're going to drop the charges.' That's the punishment they gave them," LaVar said. "But that's the punishment they gave. Now we're over here. We've got to serve some more punishment. We apologized. But it's a long process for him. He only went to UCLA one-and-done to play basketball."

LaVar then appeared on CNN with Chris Cuomo for the second time in as many weeks to discuss his feud with Donald Trump, who claimed he helped get LiAngelo out of prison in China and LaVar refuted this claim.

"Fifty percent of the people are going to like it and 50 percent (are) going to be like, 'Man, that dude's ungrateful,'" Ball said.

"Did you learn anything since then about what the President did to help get your son out of trouble?" Cuomo asked, to which Ball responded, “I haven’t learned anything at all.”

LaVar also said he sent Trump a pair of his Big Baller Brand sneakers as a gift.

"I even sent him a pair of the ZO2s, come on now … I sent him three pairs: Red, white, and blue, to show him that we're patriotic ... and didn't get a thank you,” Ball said.

He hasn’t heard from Trump yet about the present but he’s sure the president has received them.

"I tell you what, behind closed doors, I think he got them on his feet, just dancing," he said.

LaVar also said this fight with Trump hasn’t hurt business over at the Big Baller Brand.

"People already got their perception of me," he said. "Some people got it right and some people got it wrong. The ones who got it wrong, I don't worry about it. The ones who got it right, they're rolling with the Big Baller Brand. We good."
