Gisele Bundchen responded Wednesday on Twitter to criticism of her comments to her children after the Patriots’ Super Bowl loss on Sunday.

“Just to be clear. No one “let” anyone win. People win because of their own merit. Tired of people twisting my words to create drama that doesn’t exist!,” Gisele tweeted.

After her husband, Tom Brady, and the Patriots lost, Bundchen consoled their children by saying, “Daddy won five times. They never won before. Their whole life, they never won a Super Bowl. You have to let someone else win sometimes.’’

Some took offense to this, including Whoopi Goldberg, who believed Bundchen meant New England let the Eagles win.

"I'm sorry. Didn't the Eagles bust their behinds and earned that?" Goldberg said. "It's not like Tom Brady said, 'Shhh. Let's let them win.' Na-ah. They beat you. And that happens. So little Tom Brady girl sometimes people lose because that's what helps to make you better."

To which co-host Joy Behar said, "I don't think she meant 'let them win' like that."

It doesn’t seem like Bundchen was taking a jab at the Eagles. She was just trying to console her five-year-old daughter.
